Jayden's surgery!

Jayden had surgery today!  He had a little hernia.  He had a hydrocelectomy.  I let him go the day before to pick some pajamas to wear.  He picked Avengers.  He was in a pretty good mood for the circumstances.  We went to a bunch of different rooms for the process.  We got there at 8:15am and registered him in.  We read a book while we waited, then they took us to another room.  First they weighed and measured him.  We had to wipe him with some wipes, and put him into a hospital gown and pants.  He liked that the clothes that made him put on didn't match.  We told him the green socks were Hulk socks.  After that, a nurse talked to us for a little bit, then took us to another waiting room where kids could play.  Jayden got to play an Ipad while we waited for time.  A nurse came to talk to us, his doctor came and talked to us, and then the anestelogist came and talked to us.  He let Jayden play Temple run on his phone while we walked.  We reached some doors that we were not allowed to follow anymore.  We gave Jayden a hug and told him bye.  He was so brave and walked with the anestelogist to the operating room.  Eric and I had to go to another waiting room.  It was so hard watching him go one way, and having to turn around and go the other way.  I got emotional and tried to be as brave as Jayden.  We had to put some much trust and faith in those doing the surgery on our sweet little boy.  Eric and I sat in the waiting room and waited--the surgery was about 45 minutes.  Eric and I had a muffin and chocolate milk (they had a complimentary breakfast cart come while we were there).  The doctor came in and told us that it went good.  We waited another 40 minutes before we got called to go to recovery to see Jayden.  I was anxious to see him!  We went to recovery and saw him laying in the bed sleeping.  We said hi when we got to his bed and he tried to open his eyes.  It was only for like a second and he went back to sleep.  He was rolling all around.  They moved him to another area and we kept talking to him and trying to get him to wake up.  He needed to drink 4 ounces before he could be released.  He wanted apple juice, so he worked on drinking that.  He had a block in his back to help with the pain, but he couldn't really move his legs.  They asked if he wanted to ride in a wheelchair or wagon to leave the hospital.  He said a wagon.  He got to pick a fleece blanket to take and keep.  The nurse and I lifted him into the wagon and they wheeled him out.  On the drive home, he threw up the apple juice he drank.  He didn't like that and it made him cry.  My heart was breaking seeing him sad.  We finally made it home and Eric put him on the couch to relax.  He played the Ipad and watched TV.  He would get so excited when he could start to move his legs.  Each time he could move them a little more, he told us to watch.  He did so good!  He was so brave and it such good spirits.  I am proud of him and I love him so very much!!!!
